The series of ICFEI meetings has been organized by the Department of Mathematics of the Pedagogical University of Cracow since 1984, when the first one was created and organized by the late Professor Dobiesław Brydak. Presently, the conference is organized every second year and since 2005, Mathematical Research and Conference Center in Będlewo became a very frequent venue of the meeting.

The average number of participants of ICFEI varies from about 50 to 80 with more than a third from abroad. Among foreign participants we have hosted mathematicians from nearly all European countries. All the other continents were also represented. The conference attracts many recognized experts in the field as well as young researchers from Poland and other countries.

Each participant of the conference has an oportunity to give a plenary talk, parallel sessions are avoided. Besides regular, 15-20 minutes long, talks there are usually a few longer lectures delivered by leading specialists. Moreover, additional contributions can be delivered during special ``problems and remarks'' sessions.
