The ICFEI has been organized by the Institute of
Mathematics of the Pedagogical University of Cracow since
1984 (biannually since 1991). The last five
editions took
place in the hotel "Geovita'' at Złockie (near Muszyna).
It is a parallel conference to the main annual meeting devoted to functional
equations: the International Symposium on Functional Equation (organized
since 1963).
The conference is devoted to functional
equations and inequalities, their applications in various branches of
mathematics and other scientific disciplines, as well as related topics.
Analyzing the programmes of recent meetings one can expect that, among others,
the following specific topics will be discussed during the 10th ICFEI:
-
Functional equations in several variables:
properties of solutions of classical functional equations, conditional and
alternative equations, equations stemming from real/complex/functional
analysis, difference equations, stability problems for various equations,
set-valued functional equations.
-
Iterative functional equations and iteration theory:
Schröder and other special equations, dynamical systems, iterative roots,
regular iteration groups on a circle and in Banach spaces, linear equation
with iterates of the unknown function.
-
Functional inequalities: different kinds of
convexity and approximate convexity, inclusions for multivalued functions,
differential and difference inequalities.
-
Related topics: applications in ODEs and PDEs,
number theory, actuarial mathematics, social sciences and others.
Each participant will be allowed to deliver a 20-minutes long talk. The
talks will be scheduled, according to the subject, by the committee before
or right at the beginning of the meeting. Additionally, several special Problems
and Remarks sessions will be organized.
